CBD Less Stress

Anxiety in 2020

Well, last night I woke up at 1am and couldn’t fall back asleep. My mind was clouded by one million things that were worrying me, and each single one felt as heavy as an elephant sitting on my chest.

How in the world are we going to manage school from home with my boys? What happens if my daughter leaves for college and gets Covid? Gets depressed? Doesn’t like the campus changes? Get quarantined to her 10×10 foot dorm room? Am I doing the right things with my business? What am I missing? Are people going to be able to continue to buy CBD? Will our store get shut down again?  How can I help people? Are we going to be okay financially?  For goodness sakes, what in the world happens in Illinois when it turns back to a gray, cold winter instead of a bright, sunny summer?

In the darkness of the night, I literally could hardly find my way back. That’s the truth. Anxiety. Grief. Uncertainty. Longing. That’s what I had in the darkness.

Now, it’s morning.  And what I know to be true about how I’m feeling, is that I’m not alone. We’re ALL feeling new levels of anxiety, loss and grief these days. In our 180 Pure store, almost every customer that comes in shares their experience of this season. No one has it easy. Fear has a regular part of every day. Everyone misses and longs for ‘what normal’ used to look like. Somehow this morning, that gives me some hope. We are actually ‘all in this together’.

I am absolutely no expert in this area, but here’s my list of things I’m going to try….starting today.

My Tips On Battling Anxiety

1.    Make Self Care A Priority

It’s particularly hard this season! I think it’s because everyone – literally everyone in my inner circle is struggling. My energy and thoughts seem to get directed on how to help them be okay. Problem solving. Encouraging. Planning. I end up forgetting about myself. I’m going to newly set this as a priority.

2.    Find A New Way

Many of the ways I used to manage stress simply don’t work anymore. (Going out with friends. Planning a trip in the future to look forward to. Working out at a gym. Etc.) This morning, it’s clear I need to re-evaluate what this looks like. I need to find NEW things that bring my heart joy, and soul peace. Today, I’m starting with writing this BLOG! (If you have any ideas to share….please leave them in the comments below for all to learn from please)

3.    CBD

I’ve personally been using CBD for 18 months, and have found it to be very helpful in managing my anxiety. (I typically use the All Natural Softgels, but sometimes use the Orange Tincture) I’ve been using the same ‘wellness routine’, taking 1 softgel every morning. Now, I realize – that’s not quite working either. I’m going to change it up a bit and try 2 softgels every morning for a week or two, and see if that makes a difference.

4.    Stay Connected To Your People

This is so important. Everyone has an inner circle. Stay connected to the people you love, and the people who love you! Get creative about how you engage – and lean into them. We belong to each other and need each other – now more than ever.

5.    Eat Ice Cream

Grateful for each of you,

    1. It’s good to remember most of
us are working through the same issues. And then there are those who continue to do as they had previously, which puts us all at risk. We need a CBD preparation that will keep me from getting so miffed at them. I wake also trying to fix the world. I really appreciate your blog.

  1. Wow. Thank you for sharing! This is so prevalent right now and everyone needs to know they’re not alone in this. Something that has helped me during this time is making a to-do list every morning! I tend to wake up and feel like I’m drowning in everything I need to accomplish. That and the CBD softgels have saved me! ❤️

I think so many of us have nights like that. I know I do and so do a lot of people I talk to. Thanks for being so open and transparent. But I recently started taking the gel tabs with melatonin and it’s made a difference. I’m sleeping better and longer and if I do get up I go right back to sleep.
