The Challenge of Consistency

The Challenge of Consistency

When it comes to using CBD, we often say that consistency is best. Why? Because it takes time, and the regular use of CBD to see the affect on our Endocannabinoid System. But, if you’re anything like me, doing anything consistently is HARD. When we’re trying to make an improvement – in our work, our relationships, or our health…if you’re human – it’s hard. No matter how motivated we are to make a change, it’s a challenge over time.

There is power, and discipline, and goodness in the practice of consistency.

Real change doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.  And then with that change – comes transformation. Success. That’s what we’re looking for, but usually we want it faster than it comes. This is where the discipline of consistency WINS.

Here are some good tools when you’re trying to make a significant change in your life:

1.    Name it. Name the change you’re trying to make, and understand why you’re trying to make it. It’s also good to share your intentions with a trusted friend, partner or family member. Accountability is always a good motivator.

2.    Create a plan. Create a schedule, or plan – or strategy. Decide when you’re going to do what you’re going to do. If it’s a priority, then it should be a part of your daily routine. Just like anything else, you schedule in the most important things first.

3.    Pick one. Don’t try and change too many things at once, or you’ll set yourself up for failure. Pick one thing, find success – then move to the next thing. Discipline is like a muscle – you start small, and build. Then over time, you’ll find being consistent in multiple places is easier!

4.    Be kind to yourself, and carry on. I don’t know anyone who gets it right, all the time. When you encounter a bad day, or get off track – just own it, and start the next new day with a fresh start. No shaming, or bad self-talk allowed!

The discipline of consistency wins, always. You can do it!
